installing BPS on SBS 2008 after migration

Postby natalie » April 22nd, 2009, 9:14 am

Hi guys,

so we just migrated our SBS 2003 server to SBS 2008 (what a pain that was!)...

Does anyone have any decent instructions for installing BPS on SBS 2008? There are great instructions for doing so on a SBS 2003 box as posted in the BPS section already.

Thanks in advance guys!

RIM Documentation states it will work on 64 bit, with Exchange 2007. The only thing that it does not explicitly state is Server 2008.

I've heard that it won't work on SBS - think you have to have a member server running 2003 for example...

BES is NOT supported on SBS. BPS (BlackBerry Professional Software) is however.

Both are supported on 64-bit systems ... Support for Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition - www.blackberry.com/.../KB10764

BES / BPS / any BlackBerry server product is not supported in a host 2008 OS.

As of this posting BPS will NOT work with SBS 2008 or any Windows Server 2008 OS hosting the application. There has been no public indication from RIM if / when WS/SBS 2008 will be supported with BPS / BES. If you're using SBS I'd actually recommend against getting SQL 2008 unless you have a need for it, considering BES / BPS doesn't support that currently either.

but at least you have a couple of options.

Mobile 6 that work natively.

iPhones that will sync.
